Grades 5-8

2007-2008

Grade 8 has been studying the Sun-Earth-Moon system. We have been figuring out what causes our seasons as well as what configurations are needed for solar and lunar eclipses. Look to the sky on February 21 to view a cool, celestial event!

Grade 7 Science has been studying Earth’s renewable, nonrenewable and recyclable resources. The importance of finding alternate energy sources has been discussed. Soon the students will be receiving their next project…..hint: it has to do with recycling!

Grade 6 Science has been studying the minerals and rocks. The students tested minerals for hardness, luster and streak. The rock cycle will be discussed. I believe the students enjoyed inventing their new rock games!

Grade 5 Science has been studying the solar system and outer space. They have been practicing a play on the solar system and made props for the production. Hopefully we’ll be able to film the performance!
