New Staff
Welcome to the 2010-2011 school year at Hope Township School! I would like to take this opportunity to introduce our new faculty members. *********************************************************************** Hope School would like to recognize our new teachers for the 2010-2011 school year. As you may already know, a few of our teachers, Ms. Mattes, Mr. Free and Mr. Kish retired in June, 2010. Replacing Ms. Mattes is Mr. Thomas Hershey, who will be working part-time in the Resource Room and in classrooms. Mr. Hershey is a familiar face in Hope School, having previously worked as a long term substitute in 2004. Mr. Hershey holds certificates as Teacher of the Handicapped and Elementary Teacher (K-5). He is Highly Qualified in Science, Social Studies and Language Arts. Mr. Hershey comes to Hope School from the Great Meadows School District, where he taught for three years. Mr. Hershey is the proud father of two grown sons and he resides in Pennsylvania. Mr. Daniel Carle has been hired as a part-time Physical Education teacher, replacing Mr. Free. Mr. Carle comes to Hope School from Fredon Elementary School, with certificates in Elementary Education and Teacher of Health and Physical Education. Mr. Carle has been the recipient of several awards, including the NJ Governor’s Teacher Recognition Program and the Award of Excellence for his innovative Gymnasium Geography program, which he has presented to various schools throughout the state. Mr. Carle has coached Wrestling, Baseball and Softball. Mr. Carle enjoys baseball, skiing, outdoor activities and spending time with his wife and two children. Ms. Justine Hemberger has been hired as Hope School’s Basic Skills Teacher for 2010-2011. Ms. Hemberger comes to Hope School highly recommended from the Great Meadows School District, where she taught Basic Skill Instruction and Mathematics to 6th, 7th, and 8th grade students this past year. Ms. Hemberger holds certificates in Elementary Education, with a concentration in reading, and Teacher of Students with Disabilities. Ms. Hemberger resides in Warren County. Mrs. Catherine Trotter will be teaching 2nd Grade at Hope School this year. Mrs. Trotter is a dedicated, professional educator with a solid commitment to the social and academic growth and development of every student. Mrs. Trotter comes to Hope from Blairstown Elementary School, where she taught 2nd grade. Mrs. Trotter graduated from Penn State University and has completed the Graduate Teaching Certification Program at College of Saint Elizabeth in Morristown. Mrs. Trotter resides in Warren County with her family. ***********************************************************************
