New Staff
Welcome to the 2007-2008 school year at Hope Township School! I would like to take this opportunity to introduce our new faculty members, but first I wish to congratulate Mrs. Danielle Hamblin on becoming the new Principal at Central School in the Great Meadows School District. I am sure that I speak for our faculty and staff in wishing her the best of luck in her new position! *********************************************************************** Taking over for Mrs. Hamblin as Assistant Principal and Supervisor of Curriculum & Instruction is Mrs. Janet Milita. Mrs. Milita comes to us from the Tewksbury School District where she most recently served as the Director of Curriculum, Instruction and Technology Integration. Prior to that, Mrs. Milita was the Assistant to the Principal in the same district, and before that she was a classroom teacher. Mrs. Milita received her K-8 teacher certification from Rider University, and her MBA from Seton Hall University. She is currently participating in the NJ State “Leader 2 Leader” mentoring program. Mrs. Milita resides in Hunterdon County. Mrs. Milita is expected to begin her position at Hope School in October. In the interim, we are pleased to welcome back Mrs. Karen Schurman to help in the opening of this new school year. *********************************************************************** Ms. Graziella Woodruff joins our Child Study Team as our School Social Worker. Ms. Woodruff received her Master of Social Work from Hunter College and completed her undergraduate work at Douglass College, Rutgers University. Ms. Woodruff’s work experience has given her the opportunity to work with a diverse population of children and families. She looks forward to working with our teachers, administrators and the Child Study Team, and especially the students in Hope. Ms. Woodruff resides with her husband and fifteen month old daughter in Warren County. In her spare time, Ms. Woodruff enjoys time staying fit running after and playing with her young daughter! ********************************************************************* Ms. Kerry Winfield comes to Hope School as our Second Grade teacher. Ms. Winfield graduated Cum Laude from Rowan University with a BA in Communications and Public Relations and then continued her teaching pursuits at Centenary College, where she received her certification in Elementary (K-5) Education and Teacher of Students with Disabilities. Ms. Winfield was the recipient of the Centenary College New Jersey Department of Education Distinguished Teacher Candidate Program Award and was nominated for the 2006 Commissioner’s Distinguished Teacher Candidate Award. Ms. Winfield taught second grade as a maternity leave replacement at Oak Street School in Basking Ridge. Her most recent teaching experience was as a Kindergarten Teacher in the Mansfield Township Elementary School. Ms. Winfield resides in Warren County and enjoys computers, reading, going to the beach, and spending time with friends. She is very excited about becoming a member of the Hope School community! ********************************************************************** Ms. Susan Martino will be joining us as Mrs. Cardinale’s maternity replacement (Technology/Media Center). Ms. Martino has a BA degree in Early Childhood/Elementary Education (Preschool-8) from Kean University. Her background includes teaching kindergarten and elementary school classes and a position at Stanhope Elementary School as the Library Technical Assistant. Most recently, she has taught Computer Applications at Warren County Community College. Ms. Martino is excited to be returning to the elementary school classroom where she will share two of her passions, books and technology, with Hope students. In her free time, she enjoys any activity that takes her out into the beautiful Warren County countryside, including biking, hiking, and riding. ******************************************************************* Mrs. Carol Buxton and Mrs. Sherrye Steinman join the Hope staff as classroom aides. Mrs. Buxton will look familiar to students because she worked in our cafeteria this past school year! Mrs. Steinman may also look familiar because her children attend Hope School, and she has been an active PTA member and substitute teacher as well. Mrs. Steinman will be working part-time in Mrs. Bizzozero’s class, as well as working in the lunch room daily.
