Language Arts/Social Studies

3rd  and 4th Grade

3rd and 4th graders have been very busy preparing for the upcoming  NJ ASK tests beginning March 10th.  We have a motto….We’re Prepared, Not Scared!  Both classes are eager to show what they have learned all year on this test.

Both classes just completed a nonfiction book report.  Students were allowed to choose any nonfiction topic and prepare a report and poster to present to the class.  All students created extremely informational reports and presented the class with valuable information about their topic.

In English, we are finishing a chapter on verbs.  In reading, we are learning about the elements of fantasy stories and folktales.

In 3rd grade social studies, we are continuing our study of communities.  Presently, we are learning that communities grow and change over time.

In 4th grade social studies, we are learning about the northeast and the New England States.  We will be studying the Southeast in a few weeks.

Both classes are writing poetry in preparation of the 2nd annual Poetry and Pancakes in May.  We look forward to sharing our poetry with you.

          Keep reading and writing!!!!!
