2007-2008
Language Arts/Social Studies
3rd
and 4th Grade
3rd and 4th
graders have been very busy preparing for
the upcoming NJ ASK tests
beginning March 10th. We
have a motto….We’re Prepared, Not Scared!
Both classes are eager to show what they have learned all year on this
test.
Both classes
just completed a nonfiction book report. Students
were allowed to choose any nonfiction topic and prepare a report and poster to
present to the class. All students
created extremely informational reports and presented the class with valuable
information about their topic.
In English, we
are finishing a chapter on verbs. In
reading, we are learning about the elements of fantasy stories and folktales.
In 3rd
grade social studies, we are continuing our study of communities.
Presently, we are learning that communities grow and change over time.
In 4th
grade social studies, we are learning about the northeast and the New England
States. We will be studying the Southeast in a few weeks.
Both classes are writing poetry in preparation of the 2nd annual Poetry and Pancakes in May. We look forward to sharing our poetry with you.
and writing!!!!!

Science
"Science is Fun Day" is coming to Hope School April 18, 2008. Third and fourth graders will become Sensational Scientists as they work though the Scientific Method. We will soon begin to study the solar system and simple machines.

Math
Maters at Multiplication is what the third and fourth graders are becoming. Our weekly multiplication quizzes are helping us. Soon we will begin geometry and measurement.

Remember to study your multiplication facts for 15 minutes every night!
